Online Databases are the wave of future for conducting research. Below you will find a list of all the databases Maynard High School currently possesses, complete brief with descriptions. The majority of these databases come courtesy of the Metro West Regional Library Commission. To access these databases from home, you will need a Minuteman Library Card (available at Maynard Public Library).

CIA: The World Factbook

The World Factbook provides information on the history, people, government, economy, geography, communications, transportation, military, and transnational issues for 266 world entities. All Information has been compiled by the CIA.

Academic Onefile

Contains over 8,000 academic journals, the majority in full-text, available in HTML and PDF formats. Additionally, this database contains hundreds of podcasts and transcripts from NPR, CNN, and the CBC.

 

Biography Resource Center

Contains award-winning biographies on noteworthy people from all over the world, as well as full-text articles from hundreds of periodicals. Search for people based on one or more personal facts such as nationality, ethnicity, occupation, gender, and more.

Contemporary Literary Criticism Select

An extensive collection of critical essays on contemporary authors. Each entry contains a biographical/critical introduction, listing of principal works, and sources for further study.

A collection of more than a 1,100 periodicals and 200 reports focusing on all levels of education, educational administration and policy.

Expanded Academic ASAP

From arts to the humanities to social sciences, science and technology, this database meets research needs across all academic disciplines. Access scholarly journals, magazines and newspapers. Contains full-text articles and images.

 

Gale Virtual Reference Library

Contains entries from encyclopedias, almanacs, and specialized reference sources for multidisciplinary research.
