Friday, 1/11/19 - we will have an early release (11:45 am) as planned. After a brief evacuation, students are returning to Green Meadow building. All is well.

K-3 students attended an assembly on ‘Bucket Filling’ (spreading kindness) starring GMS staff members
Our PTO meets tonight (10/9/18) at 7:00pm in the cafe, and School Council meets at 5:15pm in the office conference room. The School Council agenda will include an overview of council responsibilities and the June survey results. Both meetings are open to all parents/guardians.
Kindergarteners attended a grade level meeting today with Ms. Rutherford, GM Counselor. She reviewed schoolwide behavioral expectations and invited them to make posters illustrating 'Kind, Safe, Learners' at school. Displaying posters is part of our PBIS initiative.
Our second graders just enjoyed a presentation on fire safety thanks to the Maynard Fire Department. We are grateful for the firefighters who will be providing lessons to all our preK-3 students this week!

Officer Trista came by today to help us with an ALICE Safety Drill. For 8 minutes, we practiced how to 'Stay Put'- halls were cleared, doors locked, and everyone stayed in a room until the 'all clear' signal was given. At GMS we practice many types of drills to enhance safety.
