Maynard Public Schools is pleased to welcome Adam Steiner, Ph.D. as the new Director of Technology for the Maynard Public Schools. Dr. Steiner has been a Technology Integration Specialist for the Holliston Public Schools for the past six years. He has had previous technology experience in the Norfolk, Dracut, and Natick Public Schools. He taught social studies for eight years at Westborough High School. Dr. Steiner received his undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago, a Masters of Arts from Tufts University, a Master of Education with an emphasis in Instructional Technology from Framingham State University, and a Doctor of Philosophy with a major in Curriculum and Instruction from Boston College. Screening Committee members were impressed with Dr. Steiner's experience in technology, especially state reporting, data analysis, and 1:1 device roll out. In his interviews, he emphasized the importance of professional development , feeling that working with technology integration with teachers was the key to success. In his previous position, he instituted virtual coffee talks as a way of improving communication among stakeholders. Dr. Steiner has demonstrated a strong sense of both the curriculum and budgetary priorities needed for this position. He will begin his duties on January 2, 2020.
