There has been a number of recent phishing attempts targeting Massachusetts school districts. As a precaution, we want to remind everyone what this is and how to help prevent it.

A phishing email is a message you receive from an apparent reputable source. The emails could be discussing vaping, sports, fundraising, or anything that will get you interested enough to open the email. There is usually an attachment to the email, and it asks you to download and open the attachment. These attachments contain a virus, malware, or some other dangerous software.

If you get an email that looks suspicious, even if it is from a known contact, please mark it as spam and report the incident to the technology department.

Directions on how to mark an email as spam can be found at the following link.

Whenever in doubt of an email address or message let the technology department know. We’re happy to check for you.
